sound is an archive. to perform this archive incorporates tools that produce curated textural qualities found within the recorded material. what is the best form of translation? what is the best form of communication? what emotional connections exist? these are qualities I find engaging when understanding what sound may mean in relation to human experience. characteristics of technology can be exploited or amplified, establishing relationships to the sound. we can experience a range of emotion from mourning to absolute joy whilst listening. thus, the technology drives these connections and guides our human experience. we curate what sounds we listen to based on mood, time of day, weather, etc. the significance of the technology producing the sound is just as integral to the sound as the sound itself.
